For this project, I created an alternate persona. "Hank Adams" is a scientist specializing in arachnology who started making beer in his retirement. His line of beers, under the label "Spin Brewing" features elements of spider webs, as well as interesting spider facts, in effort to expand appreciation for this commonly feared creature.
The Light Museum
The Light museum provides visitors with different interactions concerning the concept of light. Through educational exhibits, visitors can learn about what light is and our relation to it. With key artists who work with light as their medium, visitors can experience how commanding light can become an art form. Below are posters showcasing the exhibits, museum tickets that interact with the light, and a sketch for an interactive exhibit in the museum: The Light Garden, a giant artificially-lit green house that provides sun even on cloudy days. Lastly, a visitation brochure for one of the exhibitions which showcases work all based on camera-less photography, using light as the medium on photographic materials to create an image. the brochure contains lumen prints, a form of camera-less photography, to deliver information of specific artists in the show.
I'm Here For You
I'm Here For You is a sticker campaign speaking to mental illness. By creating stickers that are placed in public spaces, attention is brought to illogical fallacies that occur due to this far-reaching disease. The aim of the campaign is to create an understanding that these thoughts are sometimes unavoidable, but those close to the afflicted can reach out and support, rather than correct.
Each film included a logo, a poster, and an electronic press kit, used for film festival entries and giving more insight on the film, cast and crew, and production photography. Both shorts were the filmmaker's MFA thesis films at The Maryland Institute College of Art in 2018.
Withheld is a short film by Jordan Sarnovsky and Hugh Taylor, following a man and girl on a road trip. The concept for the logo came from the director's idea of the characters obscuring information from each other as well as witness tampering, which is alluded to in the storyline.
5 1/2 Minute Hallway is a short film by Hugh Taylor, depicting a surreal horror experience when the main character visits the home of his alcoholic father, and his journey to confronting his own identity. The idea for the logo came from the title and main setting of the film, a seemingly endless and out-of-place hallway. Using that motif, I carried the line element throughout the branding, creating an endless "hallway."
Plastic Trays and Cigarettes
The Plastic Trays and Cigarettes series is comprised of a series of books which depict daily life in a psychiatric hospital. I have been significantly influenced by graphic novels as a storytelling method, as a way to share a story through both the use of visual indicators as well as written narrative. The books depicted were part of my BFA thesis exhibition in December of 2016.
Under the direction of Angad Medi at FleishmanHillard, FleishmanHillard client Washington Gas Light co. (WGL) asked for a new video for their headquarters highlighting key moments in history, and demonstrate what WGL does in the DC, Virginia, and Maryland territory. Using my direction, the FleishmanHillard team moved forward to create a video showcasing an illuminated line that ties these events and places together.
The Fixitol campaign is for a pharmaceutical company that has the curative powers for all mental illness. The concept came from the struggle that many people who take medication for mental illness have. The process of finding a suitable dosage and mixture of medicine can be a long and frustrating process, and this pill would be the ultimate cure-all, taking all the guess-work out.
Aki-to is a concept hotel in Helsinki, Finland. The Hotel architecture is the focal point of their aesthetic, and wanted the idea to be translated into the logo.
